Psychotherapy

Talking with a professional about your concerns can help you overcome difficult situations and improve your quality of life.

I will offer you a supportive, non-judgemental and respectful space to explore your feelings, thoughts and issues in a safe environment and in confidence.

We will engage in a relationship that will allow you to reflect on your life in a unique manner:

you will perceive your own world in your therapist’s words; therefore, be given an opportunity to observe yourself from another perspective and with prospect to look for change.

You will be accepted and valued as you are. Your weaknesses and strengths are welcome to be discussed and explored. In psychotherapy, pursue of self-discovery, personal growth and acceptance are encouraged.

First and Last Sessions

After the initial contact and during the first session we will discuss your needs and what psychotherapy and I have to offer you. We will both assess whether we are suitable to work with each other and decide on a time slot.

We will meet for our sessions on a weekly basis and for fifty minutes. Other arrangements can be done, if you consider you need something different.

Psychotherapy can be short or long term, according to your personal circumstances and needs. Regardless of the type chosen, together we will embark on a journey towards your wellbeing, and this journey will end when you decide it is time to do so. Before finishing therapy, it is important to have at least one closing session, as it will help you to make sense of the whole therapeutic process.

Workshops and Groups

For those organisations seeking support, I offer workshops and group work to facilitate organisational change and wellbeing.

Lack of motivation, aggressiveness and absenteeism, among others, may be indicators that some people in the organisation are experiencing discomfort.

Group work can help create a better atmosphere; therefore, allowing people to express their concerns and explore the issues they face.

I work with a sliding scale of fees, thus allowing everyone to access psychotherapy.
Concessions are available for students, unemployed and elderly people in low income.
